The Minister of Trade, Industry and Competition, Ebrahim Patel, has released an official
notice permitting all e-commerce operations to resume as normal, despite the current lockdown restrictions on the retail sector (alcohol and tobacco products are still prohibited).
After a large number of e-commerce merchants and e-commerce platform companies protested the initial limitations on e-commerce platforms to restrict trade to "essential" items only, Ebrahim Patel has (rightfully) lifted these limitations allowing all e-commerce platforms to resume trading.
E-commerce is perfect for the current lockdown conditions, where the economy can be stabilised through contactless transactions and reducing the movement of consumers. And with most of the manufacturing sector resuming operations, we can support local manufacturing and buy local products.

How to protect yourself from COVID-19 during a delivery
Please wear a face mask or a homemade item that covers the nose and mouth when receiving your items from our courier and delivery personnel. For your safety and ours, our delivery personnel will disinfect their hands during these three stages:

Before handing over your items to you

After handing over your items to you.
Our delivery personnel will place your items on the ground then they’ll step back. Sign the waybill with your own pen, receive your product and leave the waybill on the ground. Maintain at least 1.5 metres distance from our delivery personnel at all times.
Disinfect purchased items before using them, by following the guidelines provided by us on the packaging.
Free delivery still applies in Gauteng, Durban, Port Elizabeth and Cape Town. We can deliver outside these areas (in South Africa), but delivery fees may apply.
